IPB University: Center of Excellence for Free Nutritious Meals Initiative
IPB University has announced the establishment of a Kitchen Laboratory and School as part of its Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program. This initiative is being developed in collaboration with the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas), the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), and UNICEF.
Commitment to Excellence
During a recent plenary session where the university’s performance report for 2024 was presented, the Rector of IPB University, Prof. Arif Satria, stated that the institution aims to become a Center of Excellence for the MBG program. The new Kitchen Laboratory and Community Feeding Practices are intended to serve as a focal point for development, research, and capacity building related to the MBG ecosystem.
Addressing Food-Related Challenges
Prof. Satria highlighted the importance of addressing food-related challenges in connection with various ecosystem components across the supply chain. He expressed aspirations for IPB University to take a leading role in the establishment of the Food Smart Village Ecosystem throughout Indonesia.
Enhancing Evaluation and Communication
The event, referred to as Rabuan Bersama, was designed to enhance performance evaluation by promoting transparency and effective communication within the broader IPB University community.
Performance Evaluation Results
Additionally, Prof. Hardinsyah, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, reported that the rector’s performance was evaluated at 86.4 percent for the 2024 period, categorizing it as “very good” or “superior.” This evaluation was based on the Main Performance Index (IKU) and several indicators, including the government agency accountability system, financial balance sheets, and integrity zone assessments.
