Xi’an Jiaotong University Enhances Educational Collaboration during Delegation Visit to Egypt
A delegation from Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU), led by Vice President Shan Zhiwei, conducted a visit to Egypt on January 7-8, 2025, aimed at enhancing bilateral relations and educational exchanges between China and Egypt. The delegation engaged in discussions on educational programs, research collaborations, and joint initiatives involving universities and enterprises in both countries. Meetings were held with representatives from the Chinese Embassy in Egypt, local educational institutions, and Egyptian branches of Chinese enterprises.
Meeting with the Association of Egyptian Scholars in China
During the visit, the delegation met with the Association of Egyptian Scholars in China (AESC). President Professor Nasser Abdelaal provided insights into the organization’s efforts to promote student development and mobility between China and Egypt. Shan communicated XJTU’s intention to strengthen cooperation with AESC to support Egyptian students pursuing studies in China.
Lunch Meeting with Embassy Counselors
The delegation also attended a lunch meeting with embassy counselors, where gratitude was expressed for the embassy’s hospitality and its commitment to fostering educational, scientific, technological, and cultural ties between the two nations.
Visit to XD-EGEMAC High Voltage Electricity Equipment Co. Ltd.
Additionally, the delegation toured XD-EGEMAC High Voltage Electricity Equipment Co. Ltd., where they observed the company’s operations in Egypt and its collaboration with XJTU in technology research and development.
Signing of Memorandum of Understanding at Victory College
On January 8, the delegation visited Victory College and met with Headmaster Heba Fouad, resulting in the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to formalize their partnership and promote greater participation in XJTU’s programs.
Discussions at Badr University
At Badr University in Cairo, discussions centered on educational collaboration, with Vice President Shan presenting XJTU’s advancements in research. The delegation organized a Sino-Egypt Engineering Disciplines Development Forum, which included prominent academic representatives and discussions regarding educational opportunities available at XJTU.
Concluding Discussions at Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd.
The visit concluded with discussions at Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. in Egypt focused on aligning educational programs with local workforce needs, thus laying the groundwork for future cooperation in talent development.
Representatives from various schools within XJTU accompanied Vice President Shan throughout the visit.
