International Academic Exchange: Mahidol University Welcomes University of Wisconsin–Madison Delegation

On 19 May 2026, Mahidol University welcomed faculty members and exchange students from the University of Wisconsin–Madison during an academic visit held at Room 530, Office of the President, Salaya Campus.
The delegation was led by Professor Prof. James Conway and Dr. Dr. Stephanie Koning. They were warmly received by Prof. Nopraenue Sajjarax Dhirathiti, Vice President for Global Partnerships and University Council at Mahidol University. The visit aimed to strengthen long-standing academic collaboration between the two institutions and enhance experiential learning in public health.
The programme, titled Community Health & Diseases in Thailand, Field Experience 2026 (18–29 May 2026), was organised by Mahidol University’s Faculty of Public Health. It provided students with opportunities to study community health systems, disease patterns, and Thai cultural practices, including field exposure at the Kanchanaburi Campus.
During the visit, the delegation also met Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chalermpol Chamchan at the Institute for Population and Social Research. Discussions covered key public health topics such as population health trends in Thailand, sexual and reproductive health, and migrant health issues.
The visit concluded with a campus tour of Salaya, further enriching cross-cultural understanding and reinforcing international academic networking between both universities.
