Women University Mardan Hosts Successful International Conference on Future Innovation 2026

Women University Mardan recently wrapped up a three-day international conference titled “The Future Reimagined: Innovation through Science, Social Science and Global Collaboration (FutureCon-2026).” The conference brought together academicians, researchers, policymakers, and students from Pakistan and various international locations to address contemporary global challenges and explore forward-thinking solutions.

Organizers and Collaborators

The event was organized in collaboration with multiple institutions, including COMSTECH, the Higher Education Commission (HEC), the Pakistan Science and Technology Information Centre (PASTIC), the Bank of Khyber, and Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan. The agenda included presentations of research papers, keynote addresses, and discussions focusing on innovation, multidisciplinary research, and global cooperation.

Closing Session Highlights

During the closing session, Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Razia Sultana emphasized the importance of global academic collaboration and highlighted the need for enhanced partnerships with both national and international academic and research institutions for similar future scholarly events. She announced plans for Women University Mardan to establish a Center of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence and a Center of Art and Design, both aimed at promoting innovation and research excellence. It was also announced that another international conference would be held in June 2026 at the Baragali Summer Campus of the University of Peshawar.

Dr. Farhat Jabeen, Dr. Sattar from Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan, and Dr. Hikmat Afridi, the Director of Academics at APSCS Sialkot, provided positive feedback on the conference, recognizing it as a valuable platform for intellectual exchange and interdisciplinary dialogue.

Significant Remarks

The conference included remarks from Chief Guest Commissioner Mardan Mr. Muhammad Javed Marwat and Guest of Honour Professor Dr. Qibla Ayaz. In his address, Dr. Ayaz highlighted the significance of responsible integration of artificial intelligence into society, drawing comparisons to the transformative impact of the printing press. He encouraged the younger generation to actively participate in shaping the future.

Commissioner Marwat praised the organization of the conference, underscoring the relevance of its theme, which focused on innovation in science and social science alongside global collaboration. He noted that societal progress is dependent on effective communication and interconnectedness, advocating for the incorporation of skill-based and technical education to enhance economic opportunities.
