HCMUTE and GREMSY Partnership: Advancing UAV/Drone Technology and Developing Skilled Engineers

On October 13, 2025, the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE) and GREMSY Joint Stock Company signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during a ceremony at the Central Building. This partnership seeks to enhance collaboration between the university and the technology firm, focusing on the development of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) technology and the training of skilled engineers relevant to the Industry 4.0 era.

HCMUTE was represented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chau Dinh Thanh, Vice President, along with various department leaders, including Dr. Mai Duc Dai, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, and Dr. Ha Le Nhu Ngoc Thanh, Head of the Drone Laboratory. GREMSY was represented by Mr. Nguyen Van Chu, Deputy General Director, and other specialists.

Gremsy Uni-Tour & Career Orientation
One notable initiative within this partnership is the “Gremsy Uni-Tour & Career Orientation” program, designed to assist students in navigating career paths and inspiring creativity in UAV technologies. The program will also promote the participation of female engineering students through events such as “Women in Tech.”
Research Projects and Scholarships
Further initiatives include providing internship opportunities, training sessions, and awarding Gremsy Scholarships to students who showcase outstanding academic and research abilities. GREMSY plans to fund research projects and scientific initiatives, thereby enhancing hands-on learning opportunities for students.
Strengthening R&D Efforts
Both entities have agreed to strengthen R&D efforts by presenting real-world challenges related to UAV design and manufacturing for HCMUTE’s faculty and students to tackle. Successful research outcomes will be supported with pilot testing using GREMSY’s technology.

HCMUTE will also strive to encourage student engagement with modern technology by offering equipment sponsorship to assist in academic challenges and practical projects.
