The Global Village Summer Festival 2025: Cultural Exchange and Activities at University of Tsukuba

On July 17, the Global Village Community Station at the University of Tsukuba hosted its annual summer festival, which began at 6:00 PM. Established in 2018 alongside the opening of the Global Village, the festival aims to promote cultural exchange between Japanese and international students by highlighting traditional Japanese culture.

Event Overview

Sponsored by the University of Tsukuba in partnership with the Daiwa Lease Group, this year’s event marked its fifth occurrence. Approximately 100 residents of the Global Village, along with short-term international students, attended the festival.

Activities and Engagement

Participants engaged in various activities, including traditional games such as yo-yo fishing and shooting games, as well as lantern painting sessions. These activities were designed to encourage interaction among participants and foster a sense of community.
