INTI International College Secures Fourth Place at PayNet Digital Campus 3.0 Competition

INTI International College Subang achieved fourth place in the Private Higher Education Institutions (IPTS) category during the PayNet Digital Campus 3.0 competition, held in February at the Putrajaya Marriott Hotel. The college was represented by its Student Representative Council, known as INTIMA.

Competition Overview

The national competition, officiated by Professor Dr. Azlinda Azman, Director General of the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE), included participation from 30 institutions across Malaysia. The initiative aimed to promote the adoption of digital payment solutions and enhance financial literacy among university students, with a total prize pool of RM720,000.

Challenge Format

Structured as a “Shark Tank”-style challenge, the competition required teams to develop and present initiatives that integrate digital payment solutions into campus life. Leading institutions in the event included Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM), Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP), and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM).

Final Pitch Presentation

Sebastian Yew, a representative from INTI, presented the final pitch to a panel of judges that featured Mr. Firdaus Ghani from PayNet and a representative from the Ministry of Higher Education. The team was guided by faculty from the School of Business and Communication and demonstrated innovative strategies through a blend of creativity and effective problem-solving.

Impact on Student Leadership

Ousmane Sow, a past president of INTIMA, reflected on the competition experience, noting its impact on his leadership skills and understanding of the potential of digitalisation within the economy.

Initiatives and Campaigns

Throughout the eight-month competition, the INTI team implemented various initiatives aimed at promoting digital payment usage among small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and launched a campaign to encourage student adoption of platforms such as DUITNOW, MyDebit, and JomPay. Their efforts aligned with the objectives of the Twelfth Malaysia Plan (2021–2025), which emphasizes innovation and digitalisation.

The college’s involvement in this competition highlights its commitment to providing practical education, offering students opportunities to engage with real-world stakeholders and gain experiences that will benefit their future careers in both corporate and entrepreneurial settings.
