JUC Psychology Experimental Day: Empowering Students through Innovative Learning Activities for SDG 4: Quality Education

Kota Kinabalu, 10 March 2025 – The Psychology Experimental Day at the university campus proved a remarkable success, enriching and empowering students through diverse experiential learning activities. Meticulously organized by dedicated psychology faculty and enthusiastic students, the event supported Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4—Quality Education—by fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of psychological theories and practices.
The event began with student volunteers diligently preparing and decorating the venue to create an inviting and stimulating environment for participants. The formal opening featured welcoming remarks from faculty members, emphasizing psychology’s pivotal role in enhancing individual and societal well-being. An engaging montage, creatively developed by psychology students, further highlighted core psychological concepts and various theoretical approaches.
Participants then engaged in the energetic “Mind Bloom” warm-up session facilitated by Cindy, designed to mentally and physically prepare them for the interactive sessions ahead. Psychology students presented a variety of experimental games and exercises illustrating fundamental psychological principles such as cognitive processing, group dynamics, emotional intelligence, and behavioral responses.
These activities provided valuable hands-on experiences, significantly enhancing participants’ practical understanding and skillsets. A midday lunch break allowed attendees to network, exchange ideas, and discuss insights informally, creating a collaborative and vibrant learning environment.
The event concluded with a reflective closing speech by Madam Diana, who reinforced the importance of psychology in everyday life and encouraged ongoing exploration of psychological studies beyond the classroom. Her remarks underlined how such events meaningfully contribute to students’ critical thinking, communication skills, and emotional intelligence, aligning seamlessly with the university’s ongoing commitment to quality education and lifelong learning.
