SPs IPB University Wins Partner Award for Degree Pilot Scholarship Program from the Ministry of Transportation
The Graduate School (SPs) of IPB University has received recognition from the Ministry of Transportation for its role as a partner in the Degree Pilot Scholarship Program. This acknowledgment was awarded during a ceremony held at the Santika Premiere Hayam Wuruk Hotel in Jakarta, which took place from December 2 to 4, 2024.
Recognition of Partner Institutions
In addition to IPB University, eight other institutions were also honored as partners in the program. These include the University of Indonesia, Gadjah Mada University, Bandung Institute of Technology, Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology, State University of Jakarta, Surabaya State University, and the Indonesian College of Shipping and Land Transportation Polytechnic.
Ministry’s Initiative in Scholarships
The Ministry of Transportation has been actively providing scholarships and financial assistance to its officials as part of this initiative. The evaluation of the Degree Pilot Program encompassed monitoring aspects such as the execution of the scholarship scheme, student enrollment figures, graduation rates, and significant research contributions from personnel affiliated with the Ministry.
Student Enrollment and Academic Focus
Since the program’s inception in 2020, the Ministry of Transportation has facilitated the enrollment of eight students at IPB University for master’s and doctoral studies, focusing on disciplines including Business Management, Management Science, and Agro-Maritime Logistics. All participating students successfully completed their studies by early 2024.
University Representation at Award Ceremony
During the award presentation, IPB University was represented by Prof. Titi Candra Sunarti, Deputy Dean for Resources, Cooperation, and Development, along with Fatmasari Siregar, Chair of Public Relations, Cooperation, and New Student Admissions. Prof. Candra emphasized the ongoing collaboration between SPs IPB University and various ministries, noting the consistent enrollment of Ministry officials in the university’s graduate programs. She indicated that the award serves as a motivational impetus to further improve the quality of services provided by the institution.
Monitoring and Evaluation for Quality Enhancement
To ensure the maintenance and enhancement of service quality, SPs IPB University conducts regular monitoring and evaluation sessions with its partners each semester. These assessments, coordinated with study programs and academic supervisors, aim to collect comprehensive information to facilitate timely student graduations.
Available Programs and Admissions Information
Currently, SPs IPB University offers a total of 57 master’s programs and 43 doctoral programs. The admissions period for doctoral, master’s, and professional engineer programs has recently reopened for the even semester of the 2024/2025 academic year, with applications closing on December 30, 2024. There is an expressed desire for the Ministry of Transportation to continue sending its personnel to enroll in these programs, with further details available on the admissions portal.
