Strengthening International Relations: UNAIR Hosts Strategic Meeting with NCU
Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) engaged in a strategic meeting with Taiwan’s National Central University (NCU) on November 6, 2024, at the Plenary Meeting Room in the Management Office of UNEIR’s MERR-C Campus. This meeting aimed to reinforce existing global partnerships, building on a collaborative relationship that has been developing since 2021.
Key Attendees
Key attendees included Prof. Muhammad Miftahussurur, Vice Rector for Internationalization, Digitalization, and Information; Dr. Iman Harymawan, Director of Airlangga Global Engagement (AGE); and Prof. Hsieh Lung Hsu, NCU’s Vice President for International Affairs. Prof. Miftahussurur highlighted the importance of such meetings in cultivating academic partnerships and discussed potential collaborations that may benefit students from both institutions.
Exploring Collaborative Strategies
During the discussions, the two universities explored strategies for enhancing cooperation, including the establishment of student exchange programs, joint research initiatives, dual degree programs, short-term courses, and internship opportunities. UNAIR aims each year to strengthen its international relationships, and this meeting represented a significant step in that direction.
Information Session for Students
Following the strategic meeting, Prof. Hsieh conducted an information session for UNAIR students, focusing on scholarship opportunities available at NCU. These included the Taiwan Scholarship and the Taiwan ICDF Scholarship Program, aimed at providing students with information about studying in Taiwan.
