Pursuit of Meaningful Research: Nurturing Budding Researchers through FYPs at SEGi University & Colleges

The Faculty of Business, Accountancy & Law (FOBAL) at SEGi University recently organized a Business Research Project Colloquium, featuring presentations led by research methodology lecturers Dr. William Tan Wei Yet, Dr. Sudhashini Nair, and Dr. Farah Atiqah Binti Sharif. This event showcased the research efforts of final-year students within the faculty.

Student Presentations

Students presented their findings from their Business Research Projects, illustrating their ability to identify real-world business challenges, conduct independent data collection, utilize appropriate research methodologies for analysis, and formulate actionable solutions.

Highlighted Research

Zarifah Aida received the Best Undergraduate Paper award for her research titled “The Role of Forensic Accounting Techniques in Reducing Financial Crime in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.” She expressed a desire to further explore the subject and contribute to the field. Her research focuses on best practices and strategies for employing forensic accounting to enhance financial integrity and address economic losses due to financial crimes.

Ousmane Sow, who was awarded for the Best Research Paper, presented her study, “Fintech’s Role in Enhancing Financial Inclusion in Selangor, Malaysia.” She stated that this research allowed her to engage with new topics, improving both her academic and personal skills.
