FCPC champions diversity; welcomes new foreign inbound students

First City Providential College (FCPC) continues to champion intercultural diversity through the International Association of Exchange Students for Technical and Cultural Experience (IAESTE) as it welcomed the first batch of students in the 2026 Inbound Student Mobility Program.

During an interview, Alison Entner from the University of Zurich, Switzerland, shared her anticipation to discover more of the country and be involved in the community despite cultural differences.

“The culture is different, it works differently, but I look forward to understanding the mindset of Filipino people and their way of living since the Philippines is a very different country compared to Switzerland,” she said.

Meanwhile, Milena Splitter, another student from University of Zurich, highlighted how she looks forward to connecting with Filipinos through her research as she noted that, “The biggest technicality I would probably learn is interacting with a completely different culture and adapting especially to it since I will be conducting interviews. I need to be open-minded and open-hearted to interact and see their ways. I think this would also be the biggest challenge I would face.”

Splitter will be completing her cultural and technical experience under the College of Allied Medical Sciences (CAMS) while Entner will be under the Office of Student Welfare Services (OSWS).

On the other hand, Jesus Calvo Mellado from Tecnocampus, Spain, was first to start his IAESTE internship last June 20 under the Office of Communications and Marketing (OCM).

“I would like to learn a lot of graphic design and research that would help me in the future, (in addition to) learning about your culture and your city,” Mellado highlighted as he shared his involvement in events and institution-based seminars.

Sharing a piece of Filipino hospitality, students from the Tertiary Education Department, IAESTE Local Committee, and Supreme Student Council came together alongside the FCPC administration last June 8, 2026, in the official Welcome Program held at the FCPC Star Hotel.

The IAESTE Program continues to serve as the testament of FCPC’s commitment to creating diverse cultural ties through internationalization, technical exchange, and research; another batch of inbound students anticipated in August and September.
