University of Jordan and Saint Petersburg State University Strengthen Academic Cooperation Through New Partnership
The University of Jordan (UJ) and Russia’s Saint Petersburg State University have signed an academic and scientific cooperation agreement aimed at enhancing research collaboration, student mobility, and knowledge exchange. The agreement was signed during the Third Honorary Professors Forum, marking a new milestone in the international partnership efforts of both institutions.
UJ President Prof. Nathir Obeidat and Sergey Andryushin, Vice Rector for International Affairs at Saint Petersburg State University, signed the agreement in the presence of university representatives and the Director of the Russian Cultural Center in Amman.
Under the partnership, the two universities will collaborate on joint research projects, educational programmes, academic events, conferences, seminars, and lectures. The agreement also supports the exchange of academic publications, research materials, and knowledge resources. Faculty members, researchers, and students from both institutions will have opportunities to participate in exchange programmes established through future cooperation agreements.
Prof. Obeidat highlighted that the partnership reflects UJ’s commitment to expanding its global academic network and providing students and researchers with access to international expertise and scientific advancements. He noted that collaboration with a historic institution such as Saint Petersburg State University will contribute to strengthening research capacity and improving educational outcomes.
The agreement is expected to deepen academic, scientific, and cultural ties between Jordan and Russia while supporting innovation and international cooperation in higher education.
