VNU Scientists Achieve Spot in Asia’s Top 100 Research Rankings 2026

Vietnamese researchers have been featured in the 2026 Asian Scientist 100 list, marking a significant milestone in the country’s growing presence in the global scientific community. The recognition places Vietnam’s leading scientists alongside Nobel laureates and top researchers from across the Asia-Pacific region, highlighting the nation’s expanding research capabilities.

This year’s list includes Nobel Prize winners such as Susumu Kitagawa and Shimon Sakaguchi, as well as experts in artificial intelligence, environmental science, and space research.

Among the Vietnamese honourees is Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dinh Duc from Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU), recognized for his outstanding contributions to materials science. He has published over 400 scientific papers, with 250 indexed in ISI journals, and has been ranked among the world’s top influential scientists in engineering and technology.

Also featured is Prof. Dr. Tran Xuan Bach of VNU University of Medicine, honored for his work in public health, alongside Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Tan of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, recognized in chemical technology research.

Assoc. Prof. Dang Thi My Dung of Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City was acknowledged for her advancements in nanotechnology, while Dr. Truong Hai Bang of Van Lang University was recognized for environmental research and innovation.

The inclusion of Vietnamese scholars in this prestigious list underscores the country’s rising scientific influence and deeper integration into global research networks.
