RMIT Vietnam Enhances Vietnam-Poland Higher Education Cooperation in 2025

The Vietnam–Poland Higher Education Forum 2025 convened recently, bringing together over 100 senior leaders and academic representatives from 38 universities and institutions across Vietnam and Poland. The event was co-hosted by RMIT Vietnam, the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Hanoi, and the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA>.

Commemorating Diplomatic Relations

This forum was part of a series of activities commemorating the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Poland, highlighting the ongoing collaboration in education and culture between the two nations. Notable attendees included H.E. Joanna Skoczek, Polish Ambassador to Vietnam; Dr. Wojciech Karczewski, Director of NAWA; and Ms. Phung Thi Hong Van, Deputy Head of the International Education Division at the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET).

Participants and Contributions

Among the participants were Associate Professor Dr. Pham Tran Vu, Vice President of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, alongside other senior academics and international relations leaders from various Vietnamese universities, including institutions in Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho, Tra Vinh, and Da Nang, as well as representatives from Polish universities.

Aim of the Forum

The forum aimed to facilitate dialogue among Polish and Vietnamese universities, promote partnership opportunities, and enhance academic exchanges focused on research and innovation. The discussions aligned with Vietnam’s higher education reform and internationalization strategies, as detailed in the Politburo’s Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW, which seeks to encourage significant advancements in educational development.

Nawa’s Commitment to Collaboration

During the forum, Dr. Karczewski reiterated NAWA’s commitment to bolstering higher education collaboration between Poland and Vietnam. He urged participating institutions to take advantage of NAWA’s various programs that support scholarships, research partnerships, and institutional development in disciplines that contribute to the socio-economic growth of both countries.

RMIT Vietnam and NAWA Partnership

In addition, NAWA has closely collaborated with RMIT Vietnam to promote academic exchanges and international cooperation. Initiatives under this partnership have included study tours, mobility programs, and joint ventures aimed at reinforcing the connections between Polish and Vietnamese universities. A significant aspect of this collaboration has been NAWA’s PROM program, which facilitated hosts of RMIT Vietnam students and lecturers at Poznan University of Technology and enabled Polish delegations to visit Vietnam. These reciprocal exchanges are designed to enhance cross-cultural learning, joint research efforts, and long-term collaboration in the fields of education, science, and technology.

Networking Opportunities

The forum also provided networking opportunities, enabling participants to engage with representatives from 16 leading Polish universities to discuss potential collaborations, particularly in the areas of student exchange and joint research initiatives. Professor Iwona Miliszewska, Dean of the School of Science, Engineering and Technology at RMIT University Vietnam, emphasized the importance of international collaboration as a catalyst for innovation and called for impactful research and enriched educational exchanges between Vietnam and Poland.
