HKU Business School Collaborates with CAIA Association to Enhance Alternative Investment Education in Hong Kong

The University of Hong Kong (HKU) Business School has established a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) Association to enhance alternative investment education in Hong Kong. This agreement, signed on October 9, 2025, aims to equip students with essential knowledge and skills for the evolving financial sector.

Access to Resources and Scholarships

The initiative will provide students at HKU Business School access to CAIA’s extensive curriculum and resources, tailored to meet the needs of the investment industry. As part of the collaboration, new scholarships will be offered to eligible students pursuing the CAIA Charter, a credential that enhances graduates’ job market competitiveness and offers networking opportunities with industry professionals through CAIA Association events.

Signing Ceremony and Panel Discussion

The MoU signing ceremony occurred at HKU’s iCube facility in Central, Hong Kong, and was succeeded by a panel discussion on “Future Trends and Opportunities of Alternative Investments.” During the event, Mr. Nick Pollard, Managing Director of CAIA Association for the Asia-Pacific region, emphasized the significance of this partnership in developing talent. He noted that obtaining the CAIA Charter not only provides a professional credential but also supports ethical standards necessary for success in the investment field.

Strategic Alignment of Core Values

Professor Derek Chan, Associate Dean of HKU Business School, described the collaboration as a strategic alignment of core values aimed at improving students’ recognition in a competitive environment. He indicated that the initiative would facilitate access to the CAIA Charter, empowering students with vital credentials and expertise for their careers.
