PUP Welcomes International Scholars: Insights from the Student Orientation Program

The Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) recently conducted its International Student Orientation Program, titled “Sama-Sama: Learning Filipino Language and Culture,” on August 15 in the Accenture Room at the PUP Sta. Mesa Campus.

Overview of the Program

The program welcomed 46 international students who officially enrolled at the university, underscoring PUP’s ongoing efforts to expand its global outreach. The orientation offered a comprehensive overview of the university’s academic policies, enrollment procedures, and information on visa processing and renewal.

Importance of the Orientation

Dr. Jinky De Jesus-Reyes, Chief of the Exchange and Study Program in the Office of International Affairs, highlighted the event’s importance in helping international students acclimate to campus life. She noted that the program aims to familiarize students with university processes and build their confidence to interact with faculty and staff during their academic experiences.

PUP’s Commitment to Inclusivity

PUP’s initiative demonstrates its commitment to establishing a welcoming and inclusive academic environment for students from around the world. The university seeks not only to enhance its international presence and attract more foreign students but also to contribute positively to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in areas related to Quality Education (SDG 4) and Reduced Inequalities (SDG 10).

Vision for Global Education
