Muhammadiyah University of Semarang’s 46th Graduation: Nurturing Leaders with Integrity, Faith, and Entrepreneurship

The Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang (Unimus) recently conducted its 46th graduation ceremony on June 24, 2025, in the Unimus Multipurpose Building. The event featured two sessions, accommodating a total of 970 graduates across various academic levels, including postgraduate, professional, bachelor’s, and diploma programs.

Graduating Cohort Details

The graduating cohort consisted of 34 postgraduate students, 159 professionals, 698 bachelor’s degree recipients, and 79 diploma holders. Among the graduates, 18 distinguished students attained top honors with the highest Grade Point Averages (GPAs). The highest achievers included:

  • Ns. Mariyati Mardjuky, M.Kep (Master of Nursing) with a GPA of 3.98
  • Afra Anisah Purwadi, S.TR.A.K, M.Kes (Master of Clinical Laboratory Science) with a GPA of 3.98
  • Abdul Qosim, S.T. (Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering) with a GPA of 3.60
  • Lina Fitasari, S.T. (Bachelor of Electrical Engineering) with a GPA of 3.90
  • Fitri Salsabila Kusuma, S.Gz. (Bachelor of Nutrition) with a GPA of 3.94

Other notable graduates attained GPAs ranging from 3.53 to 3.99 across diverse academic programs.

Message from the Rector

During the ceremony, the Rector of Unimus, Prof. Dr. Masrukhi, M.Pd., expressed his pride in the graduates. He congratulated them and conveyed well wishes for their future contributions to society.

Recent Milestones and Achievements

In subsequent media remarks, Prof. Masrukhi discussed recent milestones achieved by Unimus, including obtaining “Excellent” accreditation for the university as well as for 23 out of its 39 study programs. He reiterated the institution’s dedication to advancing educational standards and enhancing community services.

Additionally, Prof. Masrukhi highlighted that Unimus achieved a 100% pass rate in the National Competency Tests for both the Medical Doctor and Dental Doctor programs in 2025.

Commitment to Modernizing Curriculum

Unimus continues to modernize its curriculum across its 39 programs to meet the evolving needs of society and stakeholders, while reinforcing Islamic values among its graduates. The university aims to train graduates who not only excel in their fields but also demonstrate strong character, leadership, and entrepreneurial spirit.

Focus on Adaptability

The Rector emphasized the necessity for adaptability in an increasingly competitive job market, both nationally and internationally. Unimus is focused on fostering graduates who can effect positive change in society in alignment with Muhammadiyah’s values.

Plans for Expansion

Moreover, Prof. Masrukhi revealed plans to introduce ten new study programs that will cater to various professional sectors, including Business Law, Dietetics, Public Health, Physiotherapy, and Artificial Intelligence. This expansion aims to maintain educational relevance and responsiveness to local, national, and global demands.

Enrollment Growth

Unimus reported a notable 56% increase in student enrollment for the year 2025 compared to the previous year, reflecting growing confidence within the community.

The graduation ceremony concluded with aspirations for the graduates to make meaningful contributions to society in line with Islamic principles.
