Chiang Rai Discovery Tour 2026: Embracing Learning, Culture, and Friendship at Mae Fah Luang University
On January 24, 2026, Mae Fah Luang University hosted the Chiang Rai Discovery Tour, organized by the International Student Club (ISC) in collaboration with the Global Relations Division. This event welcomed new international students enrolled for the second semester of the 2025 academic year.
Purpose of the Tour
The tour aimed to enhance students’ understanding of Thai society, promote intercultural exchanges, and create lasting memories as participants began their academic experience at the university. During the day-long event, students visited several cultural and natural landmarks in Chiang Rai. Activities included a tour of Choui Fong Tea Plantation to learn about tea production, an exploration of the Doi Tung Development Project—which features the Royal Villa and Mae Fah Luang Garden—and an outing to the Sky Walk at Phra That Doi Wao in Mae Sai, an area notable for its cultural significance near the Myanmar border.
Creative Project
Participants were divided into six groups for a creative project themed “The Color of Yours,” inspired by Doi Tung. Each group selected a color and captured photographs that reflected their choice, fostering teamwork and creativity throughout the day. This project underscored the themes of global citizenship and cultural appreciation.
Leadership Insights
Zin Me Me Kyaw, President of the ISC and a second-year Public Health student, noted that the tour was the result of collaborative efforts among ISC members. She highlighted the significance of teamwork and a shared commitment to providing enjoyable activities that would also impart cultural insights to international students.

Feedback from attendees indicated a positive reception of the tour, with many students reporting beneficial experiences related to community engagement, leadership development, and cultural interactions.
