USeP Advances Innovation and Technology Transfer at SALIKSync Conference

The University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) participated in the SALIKSync: 1st National Impact Conference held in Bacolod City on November 6, 2025. The conference aimed to promote collaboration among national partners focused on technology transfer and the market deployment of research outcomes.

USeP Delegation

The USeP delegation was led by Dr. Roger C. Montepio, Vice President for Research, Development and Extension, who represented President Dr. Bonifacio G. Gabales Jr. The team also included Engr. Francis Louise C. Yap, Officer-in-Charge of the Knowledge and Technology Transfer Division; Engr. Michael V. Machica, Deputy Director of the Intellectual Property and Management Unit; and Engr. Elpedio M. Corbeta Jr. from the AGILab Technology Business Incubation Unit.

Memorandum of Understanding

A key highlight of the conference was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding among various grantees of the Innovation, Market Promotion of Academic Commercial Technologies (IMPACT) Program, organized by the Department of Science and Technology — PCIEERD. This program introduced the IMPACT NXT Projects, which are designed to support the development and scaling of market-ready research outputs, promoting collaboration among universities and agencies in technology transfer initiatives across the nation.

USeP’s Engagement in Innovation

USeP’s engagement in the IMPACT Program reflects its broader efforts to convert research into practical applications while fostering innovation-driven entrepreneurship. The university aims to create technology transfer systems that enable effective solutions to community and industry challenges.

Impact NXT Initiative

The IMPACT NXT initiative seeks to enhance regional innovation networks and increase collaborations among research institutions, government bodies, and industry stakeholders. The conference also included participation from organizations such as the Department of Science and Technology, the Association of Technology Transfer Professionals of the Philippines, and the World Intellectual Property Organization, underscoring a unified approach to improve the country’s innovation landscape and coordinate efforts towards a strong national impact network for technology and innovation.
