Politeknik Brunei Receives 15 IT Assets from BDCB’s CSR Initiative for Enhanced Digital Education

On October 13, 2025, the Brunei Darussalam Central Bank (BDCB) donated 15 units of information technology (IT) assets to the School of Information and Communication Technology (SICT) at Politeknik Brunei. The donation included six managed switches, four rack servers, two tape libraries, and three firewalls. This contribution is intended to enhance the technological infrastructure of SICT, thereby supporting a more effective digital learning environment for students.

Handover Ceremony Attendance

The handover ceremony was attended by several officials, including Yang Mulia Puan Hajah Sufinah binti Haji Sahat, Assistant Managing Director (Corporate Development) of BDCB, who served as the Guest of Honour. Other attendees from BDCB included Yang Mulia Tuan Mohammad Soffean bin Haji Junaidi, Head of Corporate Services Division and Deputy Chairman of BDCB’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Committee, and Yang Mulia Siti Nur Afiqah binti DP Col (B) Haji Joharie, Head of Technology Division.

Representatives from Politeknik Brunei included Yang Mulia Dayang Rahimah binti Haji Mohiddin, Assistant Director (Academic); Yang Mulia Dayang Hajah Dinah Haziqah binti Haji Johan, Acting Assistant Director (Corporate, Planning and Development); and Yang Mulia Dayang Armah binti Tengah, Acting Principal, along with heads of divisions and officers from the institution.

Ceremony Proceedings

The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat, followed by welcoming remarks from Yang Mulia Dayang Rahimah binti Haji Mohiddin, who highlighted the importance of collaboration with BDCB in fostering a sustainable and innovative learning ecosystem. The Guest of Honour subsequently delivered a speech emphasizing BDCB’s commitment to advancing education and innovation within Brunei.

Symbolic Handover of IT Assets

The most notable aspect of the ceremony was the symbolic handover of the IT assets by the Guest of Honour. Politeknik Brunei expressed appreciation for BDCB’s support, indicating that the donated equipment will provide significant benefits to students. A token of appreciation was also presented to BDCB in recognition of its contribution.
