Politeknik Brunei Sports Festival 2025: Celebrating Sustainability and Sportsmanship at the 11th Convocation

On 18 October 2025, the Politeknik Brunei Sports Festival 2025 took place at the Track and Field, Hassanal Bolkiah Sports Complex, aligning with the institution’s 11th Convocation. The event, themed “Sustainability: Our Youths’ Way of Life,” aimed to emphasize the importance of sustainable living, teamwork, and the overall well-being of students.
Dignitaries Present
Dignitaries at the festival included Yang Mulia Dayang Rahimah binti Haji Mohiddin, Acting Assistant Director (Academic), along with Yang Mulia Hajah Dinah Haziqah binti Haji Johan, Acting Assistant Director (Corporate, Planning and Development), and Yang Mulia Dayang Armah binti Tengah, Acting Principal.
Ceremony Highlights
The ceremony commenced with the national anthem and the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah. The Yang Di-Pertua of the Politeknik Brunei Student Representative Council delivered remarks highlighting the significance of unity, discipline, and sustainability in nurturing responsible youth. The Sports Festival illustrated the principles of unity, perseverance, and sportsmanship within the Politeknik Brunei community.
Marching Performance
A key feature of the event was a marching performance by the four sports houses: Satria (Green), Hulubalang (Yellow), Perwira (Red), and Nakhoda (Blue). Each house demonstrated enthusiasm and pride through their chants, flags, and coordinated performances, showcasing teamwork and youthful spirit. Additionally, students led the Athletes’ Oath Recital, committing to uphold integrity, sportsmanship, and teamwork while reflecting the sustainability theme.
Track Races and Sports Relay
The festival included various track races and a fun sports relay, with active participation from both students and staff. An award presentation recognized the winners of all sports competitions conducted during the Pesta Sukan 2025 series, which featured events such as frisbee, pool, badminton, dodgeball, netball, futsal, rugby, football, e-sports, and bowling.
Awards and Achievements
Satria House was declared the overall champion of the Politeknik Brunei Sports Festival 2025, achieving 14 gold, 5 silver, and 1 bronze medal. Hulubalang House secured second place with 11 gold, 5 silver, and 2 bronze medals. Perwira House placed third with 5 gold, 9 silver, and 12 bronze medals, while Nakhoda House finished fourth, winning 3 gold, 13 silver, and 8 bronze medals.
