Navigating Healthcare Complexity: Insights from Singapore’s CEO Roundtable

On October 24, 2025, the “CEO Roundtable on Systems Leadership in Healthcare” convened in Singapore. This event was co-organized by SIM Academy’s Centre for Systems Leadership (CSL) and NHG College, bringing together leaders from different sectors of the healthcare industry to exchange insights and strategies.

Event Participants

Participants included senior executives from notable organizations such as NHG Health, SingHealth, Thomson Medical, Singapore Children’s Society, Singapore Cancer Society, and Dementia Singapore. The discussions centered on capacity and capability building, innovative operating models, and the shift from organization-centric approaches to tackling systemic and ecosystem-wide challenges.

Moderation and Expertise

The dialogue was moderated by A/Prof Yeuk Fan Ng, Director of Corporate Development at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital. Featured speaker Professor Michael C. Jackson, Emeritus Professor at the University of Hull, contributed his expertise in Critical Systems Thinking, introducing the EPIC framework (Explore, Produce, Intervene, Check) as a pragmatic tool for leaders managing complexity in healthcare and social systems.

Healthcare Initiatives

The event highlighted ongoing initiatives to support the objectives of Healthier SG and improve the integration of health and social services in Singapore. Participants demonstrated a commitment to fostering collaborative efforts toward creating a more resilient and adaptive healthcare ecosystem.
