Xi’an Jiaotong University Strengthens International Collaborations with Hungary, Albania, and Slovenia

A delegation from Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU) visited Hungary, Albania, and Slovenia from September 21 to 30, led by Sun Zao, the deputy secretary of the CPC XJTU Committee. The objective of the visit was to explore issues related to talent shortages in businesses, examine collaboration mechanisms between industry and academia, and discuss international education models.

Agreements Signed for Enhancing Education

During the trip, the delegation signed multiple agreements aimed at enhancing liberal arts education and fostering the internationalization of management training at the university.

Institutional Tours in Hungary

From September 21 to 23, the delegation toured several key institutions, including the Continental Tech Industrial Park, the Budapest University of Economics and Business, EuroBridge Industrial Park, and the Hungarian branch of the Veson Group, along with the XJTLU Central and Eastern European Research Center.

At the Budapest University of Economics and Business, discussions were held with Gabor Kiraly, the dean of the School of Management, focusing on cooperative education, faculty and student exchange programs, collaborative research efforts, and addressing the talent needs of Chinese-funded enterprises.

CEEMAN Annual Conference in Albania

The 33rd CEEMAN Annual Conference took place in Albania from September 24 to 27, gathering leaders, scholars, corporate representatives, and policymakers from the global business education sector. The conference addressed the evolving role of business schools in a rapidly changing global environment.

During this event, XJTU was presented with the CEEMAN Alliance membership certificate, marking its inclusion in a global business education network that targets emerging economies. This membership is anticipated to strengthen connections with talent resources in Central and Eastern Europe, thereby benefiting Chinese-funded enterprises.

Meetings at the Bled School of Management

On September 29, discussions were held with officials at the Bled School of Management in Slovenia, including Nenad Filipovic, the director of Executive Education, and Drikus Kriek, the director of the DBA Program. Topics of discussion included cooperative education, curriculum certification, and the integration of industry and education, with an emphasis on innovative models for international talent development.
