Integrity and Leadership Day 2025: Fostering Ethical Values and Inspiring Future Leaders at Multimedia University

On September 24, 2025, the Integrity and Leadership Day was launched at the Dewan Tun Canselor of Multimedia University (MMU) in Cyberjaya. The event was inaugurated by Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Haji Azam bin Baki, the Chief Commissioner of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), with the presence of Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud, the President of MMU, highlighting the institution’s dedication to promoting ethical leadership and integrity.

Significance of Experiential Learning

In his opening address, Event Director Muhammad Faiz Mohd Shukran emphasized the significance of experiential learning in cultivating future leaders. He remarked that the event provided students with opportunities to learn from distinguished speakers and consider how integrity and leadership could shape their futures guided by strong ethical values. The ceremony announced the winners of the InL Video Assignment, which showcased student creativity in advocating for integrity and leadership.

Keynote Address on Ethical Leadership

Dr. Rozaidi Abdul Rahim Razali, Deputy President of Malaysia Corruption Watch (MCW), delivered a keynote address entitled “Cultivating Ethical Leadership for Tomorrow: Building Trust, Integrity, and Impact.” Drawing from his extensive background in governance, ethics, and compliance, Dr. Rozaidi underscored the importance of ethical practices in leadership to foster accountability and trust among future leaders. Another presentation during the afternoon featured Ms. Wawa Idris, an Image Consultant, who provided practical guidance on professional image building in the digital landscape through her talk “Insta-Ready, Life-Ready: Smart Grooming for the Digital Age.”

Parallel Event at Melaka Campus

Simultaneously, a parallel event took place at the Melaka campus, where Mr. Lim San Shien, Government Unity Ambassador and Malaysia Youth Leader, engaged attendees with his talk “Leadership Superpower: Unleashing Your Inner Integrity Hero.” This session was further enriched by Ms. Elaine Kwan PJK, also an Image Consultant, who shared strategies in her presentation “Polish Your Image, Power Your Future.”

Commitment to Integrity and Leadership

Both events were organized by a student-led committee in partnership with the Learning Institute for Empowerment (LIfE). They aimed to reinforce MMU’s commitment to cultivating a culture of integrity and leadership, while equipping students with essential knowledge, skills, and ethical values for their future careers. The initiatives intend to inspire students to evolve into ethical, responsible, and impactful leaders.
