UNP College of Engineering Hosts Successful PAFA General Assembly

The University of Northern Philippines College of Engineering (UNP-COE) hosted the Parents and Faculty Association (PAFA) General Assembly on September 20, 2025, at the College of Technology Function Hall. The assembly focused on enhancing collaboration between parents and faculty to support student development and the overall objectives of the college.

Importance of Parent-Faculty Partnership

During the assembly, Dr. Nelia Verzosa, Dean of COE, highlighted the importance of the partnership between parents and faculty in promoting students’ academic and professional growth. She recognized the association’s contributions and support for various college programs and initiatives.

Reports and Transparency

The assembly included several reports aimed at ensuring transparency regarding PAFA’s activities. Mrs. Annabelle Madriaga, PAFA President, provided a report on the association’s activities, while Engr. Jennifer Guzmani, PAFA Treasurer, presented the financial report. Engr. Rio Nico Costales also discussed the association’s Constitution and Bylaws.

Engagement and Elections

An open forum facilitated engagement among participants, allowing them to ask questions and share ideas, thereby enhancing communication between parents and faculty. Additionally, elections were conducted to fill vacancies in officer positions, ensuring continued governance and representation within PAFA.

Active Participation

Engr. Gaylord Frando, Assistant Dean of COE, acknowledged the active participation of both parents and faculty, noting that the event served as a platform for reporting, decision-making, and reinforcing the partnership that supports the College of Engineering community.
