U.S. Fulbright Scholar Dr. Shannon McMorrow Joins Naresuan University for Research and Teaching

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Shannon McMorrow, a lecturer at the School of Interdisciplinary Health at Western Michigan University, is set to join Naresuan University as part of the U.S. Fulbright Specialist Program. This collaboration was announced at an introductory meeting on July 2, 2025, attended by Dr. Sarintip Tantanee, President of Naresuan University, and executive staff from the Faculty of Public Health.

Tenure at Naresuan University

Dr. McMorrow’s tenure at Naresuan University will occur from July 1 to July 20, 2025. She is expected to engage in various academic activities, including organizing seminars and workshops, providing consultations for faculty development, and contributing to the development of the curriculum.

Notable Events

As part of her involvement, the Faculty of Public Health plans to host two notable events. The first is a special lecture titled “Photovoice as a Tool for Planetary Health,” scheduled for July 8, 2025. This event aims to foster engagement between staff and local communities in addressing environmental and health issues through photography. The second event, the 2nd NU PH Planetary Health Seminar, is slated for July 14, 2025. This seminar will focus on the theme “From Public Health to Planetary Health: Bridging Science and Society for a Sustainable Future” and will feature panelists from various faculties such as Architecture, Art and Design, and Science.
