Politeknik Brunei’s Educational Journey: Exploring Leading Health Institutions in Malaysia

A delegation from Politeknik Brunei, comprising students and lecturers specializing in Public Health and Cardiovascular Technology, along with officials from the Ministry of Health, is conducting an educational visit to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from June 14 to June 21, 2025. This initiative supports the institution’s aim to nurture globally competent graduates through academic excellence, strategic collaborations, and effective leadership, in alignment with its Five-Year Development Plan for 2021–2025, the Ministry of Education’s Strategic Plan for 2023–2027, and Brunei’s Vision 2035.
Academic Exchanges and Visits
The visit includes academic exchanges at Management and Science University (MSU), following an existing Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), and a courtesy call at the Brunei High Commission, which will provide students with insights into career opportunities in Malaysia. The Public Health delegates are set to visit the Ministry of Health Malaysia and the WHO Office to examine regional public health initiatives, while the Cardiovascular Technology team plans to tour notable cardiac centers, including the National Heart Institute (IJN) and Gleneagles Kuala Lumpur.
Future Activities and Objectives
Future activities will encompass excursions to Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), and various leading clinical centers. These engagements aim to promote academic partnerships and enhance exposure to healthcare practices. The initiative is designed to make the curriculum more relevant, foster student development, and create pathways for internships and degree progression, thereby strengthening Politeknik Brunei’s role in global health education.
