Public Lecture: The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Arts Education at ISI Yogyakarta and Seoul National University

On June 20, 2025, ISI Yogyakarta hosted a public lecture in collaboration with the College of Fine Arts at Seoul National University at the ISI Yogyakarta Concert Hall. The lecture, titled “Artistic Creation in the Age of Artificial Intelligence: Perspectives and Adaptations in Korean Art Schools,” focused on the views of art schools in Korea regarding artificial intelligence and the adjustments they are implementing in their curricula.

Dr. Irwandi, the Rector of ISI Yogyakarta, highlighted the significant influence of artificial intelligence across various domains, particularly in art creation and education. He indicated that the discussions held during the lecture would shed light on how prominent institutions, such as Seoul National University, develop their curricula and learning environments that balance innovation with core educational values.

The event featured contributions from several distinguished speakers, including Prof. Euichul Jung, Dean of the College of Fine Arts, Prof. Inho Cho, Associate Dean, Prof. Jesung Park, Associate Dean of Student Affairs, and Prof. Bogki Min. Each speaker addressed different facets of the intersection between art and artificial intelligence, discussing topics that encompassed the role of creators in society, as well as the advancements in digital media and art.
