Inauguration of Kuang Yaming Honors School Fund and Alumni Donation Ceremony at Nanjing University

On May 21, the Kuang Yaming Honors School at Nanjing University held an inauguration ceremony for the Kuang Yaming Honors School Development Fund and launched the 40th Anniversary Alumni Donation Campaign. The event was attended by various stakeholders, including Feng Fan, Director of the NJU Alumni Affairs and Development Office, several alumni including Lu Zhigang, Hong Hao, Hu Wei, and Zheng Gang, as well as parents of alumnus Jiang Wenwei. Also present were Wang Jun, Dean of the Undergraduate School and Executive Dean of the College of First-Year Students, along with faculty and student representatives.

Ceremony Highlights

The ceremony began with the unveiling of the Kuang Yaming Honors School Hydrangea Garden, a gift from the Classes of 1989 and 1990, and the introduction of a graduation photo wall titled “Guided the Stars, Shining Southward.” Feng Fan expressed gratitude on behalf of Nanjing University for the contributions made by alumni. Wang Jun welcomed attendees and acknowledged their support for the school’s development. Zhou Yuan, Secretary of the Party Committee of Kuang Yaming Honors School, provided an overview of the operational mechanisms and intended uses of the newly established development fund.

Recognition of Alumni Donors

Certificates of appreciation were presented to the initial group of alumni donors, which included Lu Zhigang from the Class of 1989, Hong Hao and Hu Wei from the Class of 1990, Zheng Gang from the Class of 2004, and the parents of Jiang Wenwei from the Class of 2010. Lu Zhigang reflected on the school’s success in nurturing top-tier innovative talents over the past four decades. Hong Hao highlighted the role of alumni in supporting the school’s growth and the importance of fostering strong alumni connections. Zheng Gang, a younger member of the NJU Board of Trustees, reiterated his commitment to supporting the school’s initiatives in talent development.

Interactive Session with Alumni

The event featured an interactive session in which alumni shared insights with current students regarding academic planning and career development, drawing on their professional experiences.
