APU Students Celebrate Cultural Diversity at KL Prosperity Walk 2025

On February 15, 2025, a group of 20 students from the Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) participated in the 4th Annual KL Prosperity Walk 2025 in Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur. This event celebrated Malaysia’s cultural diversity and coincided with the final day of the official Chinese New Year festivities.
Representation of APU’s Cultural Initiative
The students represented APU’s Sustainable Future Fusion (SFF) initiative, wearing a variety of traditional costumes that highlighted the event’s emphasis on inclusivity and social cohesion. As they walked past several notable Kuala Lumpur landmarks, such as Lot 10, Starhill Gallery, Pavilion KL, and Suria KLCC, they showcased the richness of Malaysia’s cultural heritage.
Memorandum of Understanding
This participation follows the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between APU and the Kuala Lumpur Tourism Operators and Stakeholders Association (KLTESA). The MoU aims to enhance cultural awareness and promote sustainable initiatives, aligning with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
Event Co-Organization and Mission
The KL Prosperity Walk 2025 was co-organized by the BB Tourist Association and the KL Society, receiving official recognition from Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL). The event supported the SFF’s mission to foster cultural awareness, environmental sustainability, and youth empowerment.

Participants reflected positively on their experiences, expressing pride in showcasing their cultures and the dynamic performances that represented various Malaysian ethnic groups.
