International Land Port Hospital of XJTU First Affiliated Hospital Officially Opens
The International Land Port Hospital of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU) officially commenced operations on December 30, 2024. This facility is established as a tertiary hospital within the Chanba International Port area.
Free Clinic Event
In conjunction with the opening, the hospital initiated a month-long free clinic event starting on November 30, which provided medical services across 28 specialties. Over the duration of this event, more than 27,000 patients received treatment, reflecting the hospital’s commitment to delivering quality healthcare.
Advanced Medical Technologies
Han Jianfeng, deputy director of the XJTU First Affiliated Hospital, stated that the International Land Port Hospital is equipped with advanced medical technologies, including modern imaging diagnostic equipment and precision surgical instruments. The hospital’s focus is on ensuring safe and effective treatments while prioritizing a patient-centered approach.
Cultural Activities and Exhibitions
A New Year’s concert was held in the outpatient hall, featuring performances by the student art troupe of XJTU. Additionally, a historical exhibition highlighting significant medical cases from the hospital’s archives since 1956 was presented on the third floor of the outpatient building.
Hospital Infrastructure and Mission
The hospital spans approximately 375 mu (25 hectares) and was developed in two phases. It operates as a specialized institution that combines medical services with education, research, rehabilitation, and health care. As a pilot unit for the country’s first “mentorship-type” national medical center, XJTU First Affiliated Hospital is also engaged in the advancement of superconducting heavy-ion equipment, intended for use at the International Land Port Hospital.
