Rector of UNAIR Highlights Newly Inaugurated Professors as Key Sources of University Strength
On December 19, 2024, Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) conducted an inauguration ceremony for six newly appointed professors at the Garuda Mukti Hall on the MERR-C Campus. The newly inaugurated professors are:

- Prof. Dr. Imron Mawardi, S.P., M.Si. (Faculty of Economics and Business)
- Prof. Dr. Kismiyati, Ir., M.Si. (Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences)
- Prof. Dr. Liliek Susilowati, S.Si., M.Si.
- Prof. Aminatun, Ir., M.Si. (Faculty of Science and Technology)
- Prof. Baiq Lekar Sinayang Wahyu Wardhani, Dra., M.A., Ph.D. (Faculty of Social and Political Sciences)
- Prof. Ferry Efendi, S.Kep., Ns., M.Sc., Ph.D. (Faculty of Nursing)
During the ceremony, UNAIR Rector Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih highlighted the institution’s academic development, noting that the number of professors at UNAIR has grown to 373, making up 17% of the university’s teaching staff. The Rector described professors as valuable assets who play a significant role in advancing knowledge and innovation for societal benefit.
Future Goals for Faculty Expansion
The university aims to increase the proportion of professors to 20% by early 2025, targeting the addition of approximately 40 more faculty members. This strategy is part of UNAIR’s broader objectives to enhance its reputation as a global higher education institution.
Commitment to Academic Potential
Prof. Nasih also commented on the academic potential present in Indonesia, asserting that optimizing this talent can lead to meaningful contributions to both national and international issues. He emphasized that expanding the number of professors at UNAIR would further solidify the university’s commitment to cultivating future leaders across diverse sectors, including finance, defense, health, and trade.
