CJCU’s SHS collaborates with GEOSAT to develop Smart Mobile Disinfection Robot

The School of Safety and Health Sciences (SHS) of Chang Jung Christian University (CJCU) in collaboration with the Industrial Development & Investment Promotion Committee of Tainan City and GEOSAT Aerospace & Technology Inc. held the Smart Mobile Disinfection Robot Exhibition to unveil the application of AI technology in fighting the pandemic. The exhibition underscores the strength in the collaboration among university, industry and government.

Ms. Chen Chiou-Jong, the Dean of the SHS, said that CJCU endeavors to promote healthcare in the local community by holding the anti-COVID lectures to the public and mobilizing SHS’s faculty and students applying their knowledge to combat the pandemic. The smart mobile disinfection robot is the first in Taiwan to receive the EN60601 medical equipment certification and has passed disinfection efficiency test by the SHS. In the future, the SHS will focus on the field application of ultraviolet disinfection technology and will collaborate with GEOSAT to develop operational safety assessment and efficiency test certification of the robot. Through the professional assessment and safe operation, the public will have a better understanding and acceptance of the UVC disinfection robot.

The smart mobile disinfection robot, jointly designed by GEOSAT and New Era AI Robotic Inc., is equipped with a UVC light kit that passed CE and UL certifications. The robot can kill 99.9% of bacteria and viruses within a 4-meter diameter and has autonomous mobile and timing functions to maximize the range. With the installation of programmed control, intelligent system, automated disinfection, and data visualization, it is an effective tool to fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
