Project Overview

The project, titled “The Dolphin as a Catalyst: Bridging SDG 11 and Biodiversity in Coastal Megacities between Haikou, China, and Bangkok, Thailand,” addresses the challenges faced by coastal megacities in relation to urban development, marine ecosystems, and community livelihoods. It specifically focuses on the protection of endangered marine species such as the Chinese White Dolphin and the Pink Dolphin, both of which are threatened by rapid urbanization, marine pollution, and unsustainable coastal activities.

Sustainable Development Goals Integration

This initiative highlights the integration of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), notably SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), SDG 4 (Quality Education), and SDG 14 (Life Below Water). The project aims to promote marine education, community engagement, and urban resilience, all to support sustainable coastal development.
