On February 8, 2026, a reunion for the Tsukuba Universal Alumni Network (TUAN) took place in São Paulo, Brazil. The event featured attendance from key officials, including President NAGATA Kyosuke and Vice President for Global Affairs OHNEDA Osamu from the University of Tsukuba, as well as six alumni and former international students currently residing in Brazil. The gathering aimed to strengthen connections among participants.
Overview of TUAN
TUAN, established in October 2023, seeks to connect overseas alumni associations and alumni, including Japanese graduates, with the University of Tsukuba. During the reunion, President NAGATA expressed appreciation for the alumni’s involvement and shared reflections on their experiences studying at Tsukuba. The event maintained a welcoming environment, fostering camaraderie among attendees.
Future Plans for TUAN
Participants received a brief overview of TUAN, along with plans to expand the network and promote exchanges among alumni in Brazil. Future TUAN events are projected to be hosted in various countries, with additional gatherings in Brazil anticipated.
