Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi Achieves First Place in Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Environmental Award

Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi (SUAD) has received first place in the Environmental Research Institute category of the Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Environmental Award. This award, established by the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi (EAD), aims to recognize significant initiatives within the United Arab Emirates that promote environmental protection and sustainable resource management.
Award Ceremony Highlights
The award ceremony was held at Al Nakheel Palace in Abu Dhabi, where university representatives, including Dr. Majed Alkemeiri, Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Administrative Affairs, and Dr. Beatriz Garcia, Sustainability Officer, accepted the accolade on behalf of SUAD.

SUAD achieved this recognition by demonstrating excellence in four critical areas: leadership and environmental governance, research innovation and operational effectiveness, institutional recognition and capacity building, and the impacts and outcomes of its initiatives.
