Chancellor of Guru Kashi University Explores Research Collaboration Opportunities at University of Colombo

On February 3, 2026, S. Gurlabh Singh Sidhu, Chancellor of Guru Kashi University in Punjab, India, visited the University of Colombo. He was joined by Dr. Dulan Hettiarachchi, Chairman of the Task Force for Tourism and Cultural Affairs in Sri Lanka. During this visit, Chancellor Sidhu held discussions with Professor Indika Mahesh Karunathilake, Vice Chancellor of the University of Colombo, regarding potential collaborative research initiatives.
Discussions on Collaborative Research
The discussions focused on agriculture and related technologies, which may lead to joint research projects between the two institutions. Dr. Iroja Caldera, Director of the International Office, also participated in the meeting.

This engagement is anticipated to strengthen the relationship between the two universities and enhance research efforts in agricultural technology and practices.
