Bun Samkhan, a senior at the American University of Phnom Penh (AUPP), has been designated as the university’s “Eagle of the Month.” Pursuing a dual degree in Business Administration in collaboration with the University of Arizona, Bun is also involved in business, modeling, and acting.

Bun has conveyed a strong passion for seeking diverse experiences and highlighted the importance of personal growth throughout his journey. He addressed the challenges experienced while stepping outside his comfort zone to become a public figure, expressing a deep appreciation for privacy. However, these experiences have expanded his perspectives and deepened his understanding of societal dynamics.
Entrepreneurial Achievements
One of Bun’s significant achievements is the establishment of a small business while managing his academic commitments. He recognized the challenges related to practical aspects such as staffing, budgeting, and operational management, which were more complex than anticipated. Nonetheless, applying his academic knowledge in real-world situations has strengthened his decision-making skills during challenging periods.
Exploring New Avenues
In addition to his business endeavors, Bun has ventured into modeling and acting due to unexpected opportunities. Initially regarding a modeling project as a pleasurable activity, he gradually developed a genuine interest in the field. His foray into acting began with an audition for a film. Despite facing initial setbacks, a chance encounter with a director resulted in a role in the film “Far Away Close to You,” which marked a pivotal moment in his career.

Bun has credited his mother as his primary source of inspiration, commending her strong character and the business skills she has imparted to him from a young age. He attributes much of his business acumen and personal development to her guidance and example.

In looking ahead, Bun encourages aspiring individuals to seize every opportunity that arises, regardless of the uncertainties involved. He believes that such opportunities can be gateways to fulfilling one’s aspirations and should not be disregarded.
