FEU Secures Fourth Consecutive Title in UAAP Women’s Football Championship

Far Eastern University (FEU) concluded an undefeated run in the UAAP Season 88 Collegiate Women’s Football Tournament, clinching a 2-0 victory against De La Salle University in the championship match at the UP Diliman Football Stadium. This triumph marks the university’s fourth consecutive championship and the 14th overall title in the program’s history, solidifying its status as a significant player in women’s collegiate football.
Historic Achievement
With this achievement, FEU becomes the first team to secure four consecutive titles since De La Salle’s streak from Seasons 65 to 68. Coach Let Dimzon indicated that the victory serves as a notable farewell for the graduating players and reflects their confidence prior to the match.
Match Highlights
The Lady Tamaraws established an early advantage, with Judie Arevalo scoring in the 15th minute from a corner kick. Despite De La Salle’s efforts to equalize, including attempts from players such as Jodie Banzon and Chenny Dañoso, FEU’s defense held firm. In the final moments of the match, Regine Rebosura, a substitute and member of the national team for the 2025 FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup, secured the win with a goal, marking a successful conclusion to her collegiate career.
Season Overview
Throughout the season, FEU demonstrated considerable strength, remaining unbeaten in their last 32 matches, dating back to a strong finish in the previous season. The Lady Tamaraws not only excelled on the field but also received individual accolades during the awarding ceremony. Team captain Jonela Albino was named Most Valuable Player, while Rebosura and Jessa May Lehayan earned honors as Best Midfielder and Best Goalkeeper, respectively. Arevalo’s impressive performance, contributing a tournament-leading eight goals, earned her the Golden Boot award.
Future Aspirations
This championship continues FEU’s successful season, following a prior victory in women’s athletics, and positions the university as a strong contender in both men’s and high school football divisions, with ambitions for a fourth treble.
