Naresuan University Advances International Collaboration in Engineering Education and Botanical Research in Kunming, PRC

Naresuan University has reaffirmed its dedication to international collaborations in engineering education and botanical research through participation in recent academic events in Kunming, Yunnan Province, China.
Participation in Academic Events
On October 23, 2025, representatives from Naresuan University, including Dr. Phisut Apichayakul, Vice President for International Relations and Technology Transfer, and Prof. Dr. Kornkanok Ingkaninan, Vice President for Research and Innovation Development, attended “The 8th Kunming Forum on South & Southeast Asia Educational Cooperation.” The delegation was involved in the launch of the “China (Yunnan)–South and Southeast Asia Engineering Education Innovation and Development Alliance,” which aims to enhance cooperation in engineering education across the region.
Keynote Address on Engineering Education
During the forum, Dr. Phisut Apichayakul delivered a keynote address entitled “Engineering Education Empowers Regional Development and Innovation Drives a Green Future Blueprint.” In his speech, he outlined the university’s vision for sustainable innovation in engineering education.
Visit to the Kunming Institute of Botany
On October 24, 2025, the delegation visited the Kunming Institute of Botany (KIB), where they were welcomed by Prof. Dr. Ying-Jun Zhang. The visit included a tour of key facilities such as the Department of Phytochemistry and Natural Products Chemistry and the Kunming Botanical Garden. This engagement provided an opportunity for academic exchanges with KIB researchers and discussions regarding potential collaborative research projects in the fields of natural products chemistry and biodiversity.
Future Collaboration Discussions
The meetings concluded with initial discussions focused on future collaboration, including joint research initiatives and the potential for researcher and graduate student exchanges between Naresuan University and KIB.
