Memorandum of Understanding Signed Between Politeknik Brunei and Huawei Technologies for ICT Collaboration

On October 29, 2025, Politeknik Brunei and Huawei Technologies (B) Sdn. Bhd. established a collaborative partnership by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the Ong Sum Ping Campus of Politeknik Brunei.

Signing Ceremony Details

The signing ceremony included notable attendees such as Yang Mulia Pengiran Dr. Saiful Baharin bin Pengiran Haji Duraman, Acting Director of Politeknik Brunei, and Yang Mulia Dayang Hajah Armah binti Tengah, Acting Principal of Politeknik Brunei. Representatives from Huawei included Yang Mulia Mr. Peng Li Meng, Principal Business Development Manager, and Yang Mulia Ms. Chen Shaoyu, Account Director. Other significant participants included Yang Mulia Mr. Louis Lou Yang, Chief Executive Officer of Huawei Technologies (B) Sdn. Bhd., along with various officials from both organizations.

Strategic Alliance Overview

This MoU outlines a strategic alliance to enhance collaboration in research, education, and training within the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector. The agreement is centered on working together to develop skilled ICT professionals through comprehensive training and capacity-building programs.

Huawei ICT Courses

A noteworthy component of this collaboration is the introduction of Huawei ICT courses at Politeknik Brunei. These programs aim to nurture ICT talent and provide students with the opportunity to attain industry-recognized certifications, such as the Huawei Certified credentials. This initiative is intended to offer students and staff avenues for obtaining globally recognized qualifications while studying at the institution.

Industry-Linked Learning Experiences

The partnership also focuses on providing a substantial industry-linked learning experience for students, which includes organizing industry talks, offering certification programs like Huawei Certified ICT Associate in Cloud Service Solutions Architect, and facilitating participation in Huawei ICT competitions. Students may also have opportunities for internships, study visits to Huawei’s headquarters in China, and potential career placements. Graduates of these programs will receive official certifications from Huawei.

Politeknik Brunei–Huawei Talent Pool Programme

Moreover, the MoU launches the Politeknik Brunei–Huawei Talent Pool Programme, granting students priority access to internship and full-time employment opportunities within Huawei’s ecosystem.
