m-CREST is set to conduct comprehensive technical studies on flood mitigation, utilizing advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and satellite technology. Strategic policy research will also be undertaken, focusing on water conservation, financial models for water management, and the water-energy nexus to facilitate low-carbon practices.

Postgraduate Programs and Collaborations

In addition, MSU will offer postgraduate programs related to the water and energy sectors that are designed for PETRA and its affiliated agencies, along with Continuous Professional Development (CPD) and microcredential programs. Collaborations with PETRA will also include initiatives on carbon footprint management and ecosystem conservation.

Specialized Clusters

The centre will operate through five specialized clusters: Green & Biotechnology, Water & Ocean, Energy & Low Carbon, Waste & Circular Economy, and Health, Climate & Community.
