Walailak University Achieves 2025 GMA Award for Innovative AI-Integrated Online Course

Walailak University has recently been awarded the 2025 Global MOOC and Online Education Alliance (GMA) Award for its online course titled “Work Performance Enhancement with AI.” This course, developed on the ThaiMOOC platform, has garnered the AI Special Recognition Award for its effective incorporation of artificial intelligence into online education.
Development Team
The course was developed by a team from the School of Engineering and Technology, led by Assistant Professor Korakot Suwannarat, alongside Assistant Professor Dr. Karanrat Thammarak and Assistant Professor Dr. Chirawat Wattanapanich. This recognition reflects Walailak University’s growing influence in the field of digital and AI-driven education.

Assistant Professor Korakot noted that the award symbolizes the collective effort of the entire team and highlights Thailand’s advancing capabilities in digital education. He emphasized the shared pride among Walailak University and the broader academic community in their efforts to make AI learning accessible and relevant.
Global GMA Awards Overview
The GMA Awards recognize significant innovations in online education and the integration of AI on a global scale. In 2025, a total of twenty courses received recognition—ten under the main GMA Awards and ten in the AI Special Recognition category. Walailak University’s course was acknowledged for its practical approach to enhancing AI literacy.

It is accessible via ThaiMOOC and is expected to be available soon on the Global MOOC Alliance platform, aiming to attract a wider audience of international learners. Assistant Professor Korakot anticipates that AI will significantly alter work dynamics across various professions, serving as a key asset in data analysis, productivity enhancement, and creativity. In his concluding remarks, he encouraged students and educators to actively explore AI integration.
