MMU and UMN Strengthen Academic Collaboration and Future Initiatives for Sustainable Development

Multimedia University (MMU) and Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN) have enhanced their academic collaboration during the CIC 2025 Joint Conference, which took place at MMU Melaka from October 14 to 16, 2025. Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud, President of MMU, was the keynote speaker at the event.
Conference Overview
The conference featured three international conferences: the International Conference on New Media Studies (CONMEDIA), the International Conference on Smart Cities, Automation & Intelligent Computing Systems (ICON-SONICS), and the International Conference on Communication and New Media Studies (COMNEWS). All three conferences operated under a common theme, “Empowering a Sustainable Future Through AI and Human-Machine Communication.” This collaboration marked the first time MMU and UMN organized parallel events, highlighting their joint commitment to advancing research and promoting global knowledge exchange.
Collaborative Efforts
In addition to the conference proceedings, UMN representatives engaged with the Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET) at MMU to discuss potential joint research initiatives, student mobility, and academic exchange programs. Key participants in these discussions included Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud, Prof. Dr. Hishamuddin Ismail, Director of Melaka Campus, Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Ng Poh Kiat, Dean of FET, and Dr. Andrey Andoko, Rector of UMN. These discussions underscore the dedication of both institutions to strengthen their academic partnership and explore further collaborative opportunities.
