Multimedia University Achieves Four Prestigious Awards at Melaka Innovation Day 2025

Multimedia University (MMU) received recognition at the Hari Inovasi Negeri Melaka 2025, winning four awards, including a Gold Award and a Special Award for the board game *The Hustler Boardgame*. The event occurred on September 25, 2025, at Universiti Kuala Lumpur – Malaysia Institute of Chemical and Bioengineering Technology (UniKL MICET) in Alor Gajah, Melaka.

The Hustler Boardgame
This project secured the Gold Award and Anugerah Khas (Special Award) under the leadership of Mr. Vincent Chan from the Faculty of Business (FOB) and the Centre of Excellence (COE) for Business Innovation and Communication. Team members included Nadhrah Abu Hassan, Nurul Atiqah Mohd Shukry, and Ikha Fadzila Md Idris.
JM App
Developed by Casswin Lim Kai Xin and Julian Yong Yee Qian, this project earned a Silver Award under the mentorship of Vincent Chan.
FORTIS: Flow-Oriented Retrieval & Threat Intelligence System with LLMs
This project, supervised by Prof. Lim Heng Siong from the Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET) and the COE for Robotics and Sensing Technologies, received a Silver Award.
AEGIS-5G
This initiative was recognized with a Bronze Award, developed by Sofia Batrisyia, Tan Jun Yan, and Ding Teck Sheng, also under the guidance of Prof. Lim Heng Siong.
Event Highlights
Themed “Driving Innovative Solutions Towards a Prosperous Community,” the event featured approximately 150 participants, including representatives from various schools, higher education institutions, and government agencies in Melaka. Jointly organized by the State Government of Melaka and UniKL MICET, the event included nine competition categories focusing on environmental technology, manufacturing, disaster management, food innovation, and social sciences.

YB Datuk Fairul Nizam Roslan, the State Executive Councillor for Science, Technology, Innovation, and Digital Communication, officiated the ceremony, emphasizing innovation as a vital approach to improving quality of life.
Support for Innovation
The participation of MMU was supported by Prof. Dr. Hishamuddin Ismail, Campus Director of MMU Melaka, alongside the Technology Transfer Office (TTO), which plays a role in fostering innovation and commercialization efforts among students. These achievements highlight the university’s commitment to encouraging creativity and advancing research that contributes positively to the community.
