UOW Malaysia hosted the Badminton Championship 2025 on July 8-9 at the Glenmarie Campus, with participation from 43 students and staff members across four categories: Men’s Singles, Women’s Singles, Men’s Doubles, and Women’s Doubles. The event was themed “Smash Your Way to Victory!” and showcased a range of talent and teamwork.
Organizing Committee
The Engineering Society (ES) organized the championship with assistance from the School of Engineering (SOE) and the Student & Alumni Centre (SAC). Ms. Gee Chia Chen served as the ES Club Advisor for the initiative, while Mr. Gerard Balavendrian, ES Vice President, and Mr. Lim Jun Chi, ES Secretary, helped maintain the event’s lively atmosphere. Notable attendees included Ms. Foo Huey Shin, Assistant Manager of SAC, and Dr. Goh Thing Thing, Academic Department Head of SOE, who underscored the importance of student-led initiatives.

Closing Ceremony
The championship concluded with a prize-giving ceremony, where participants and spectators expressed enthusiasm for future events. UOW Malaysia recognized the significant contributions made by the organizing committee, volunteers, sponsors, and attendees, highlighting the community spirit fostered through this sporting event.
