Nurturing Future Leaders: Fostering Creativity and Resilience in Young Minds at Multimedia University

On 26 August 2025, the Faculty of Management at Multimedia University conducted a program titled “Design Thinking in Problem Solving” at Sekolah Seri Puteri in Cyberjaya. This initiative was part of the “Kursus Kepimpinan Pembimbing Rakan Sebaya (PRS) Sekolah Berasrama Penuh Zon Tengah” and saw the participation of 120 student leaders.

Program Objectives

The program aimed to enhance leadership and peer support skills among secondary school students. Through the application of design thinking methodology, participants were encouraged to cultivate innovative mindsets, explore creative solutions, and develop collaborative problem-solving abilities essential in today’s educational environment.

Facilitator Insights

According to Dr. Mohd Fairuz Abdul Rahim, the program’s facilitator, design thinking transcends traditional problem-solving approaches by equipping future leaders with the tools to tackle challenges using creativity, resilience, and empathy. The initiative aimed to instill these values in PRS leaders, preparing them effectively for roles in peer guidance and support.
