MoU Signing Establishes International Partnership Between Politeknik Brunei and Lanzhou Petrochemical University

Politeknik Brunei and Lanzhou Petrochemical University of Vocational Technology (LPUVT) have established an international partnership following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on July 21, 2025. This agreement is intended to foster cooperation in various areas, including education, training, and research.
Collaborative Initiatives
The MoU includes provisions for multiple collaborative initiatives, such as student and staff exchange programs, the implementation of a “Chinese + Vocational Skills” initiative, joint academic research, co-publications, and the sharing of academic resources.
Signing Ceremony
The signing ceremony occurred at the School of Petrochemical on the Lumut Campus and began with a recital of Surah Al-Fatihah. Yang Mulia Pengiran Dr. Saiful Baharin bin Pengiran Haji Duraman, Acting Director of Politeknik Brunei, provided opening remarks highlighting the significance of the collaboration for enhancing research and educational partnerships.
Key Attendees
Dr. Saiful Baharin signed the MoU on behalf of Politeknik Brunei, with Acting Principal Dayang Hajah Armah binti Tengah also in attendance. The LPUVT delegation was led by Yang Mulia Mr. Liu Xingqin, Vice President, along with Liu Yafang, Director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office. Additional attendees included Chen Peng, Dean of the School of Electronic and Electrical Engineering at LPUVT, and Alan Goh, Managing Director of Human Resources at Hengyi Industries Sdn Bhd, alongside various heads of divisions from Politeknik Brunei.
Future Engagement
After the MoU signing, LPUVT representatives participated in a guided tour of the Lumut Campus, which featured visits to classrooms and workshops, emphasizing their intention to engage in future collaborations.
