FIKKIA Veterinary Student Bintang Muslimah Represents UNAIR at U-Go Summit 2025

A student from the Faculty of Health, Medicine, and Natural Sciences (FIKKIA) at Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) has been designated as one of Indonesia’s representatives at the U-Go Summit 2025. Bintang Muslimah participated in the summit, which was held from April 4 to April 6, 2025, at the Hyatt Regency Resort and Spa in Da Nang, Vietnam. The event brought together U-Go Scholarship recipients from various countries, including the Philippines, Vietnam, Pakistan, India, Cambodia, Nepal, and Bangladesh, alongside a range of international partners.
Success in U-Go Writing Competition
Muslimah’s participation in the summit followed her success in the U-Go Writing Competition organized by the INOTEK Foundation. Her submission included an article based on her research and community service project associated with the Nyubrik initiative.
Presentation Highlights
During the summit, Muslimah presented her work in English and fielded questions regarding community engagement strategies. Additionally, she highlighted the cultural heritage of Banyuwangi by showcasing a traditional udeng, a headscarf characteristic of her hometown. The udeng, noted for its symmetrical triangle design symbolizing harmony among humans, deities, and nature, captured the interest of attendees. As a gesture of goodwill, she presented the udeng to U-Go Founder John Wood on the final day of the conference.
Reflection on the Experience
Muslimah articulated her appreciation for the opportunity to attend the summit, recognizing it as a valuable learning experience. She expressed the hope that the knowledge and insights gained during the event would contribute positively to daily life and motivate other students to seek similar opportunities.
